Voting is Elementary  Grade: 1, 2, 3
Conducting a mock election helps primary students understand the voting process. In this lesson students conduct a mock election for a class mascot. Students also use the Internet to find out about Kids Voting, a country-wide project that encourages student participation in government. After visiting the Kids Voting Wish Tree site, students make a class wish tree showing their goals for our country.

Know Your Local Government  Grade: 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12
The purpose of this activity is to introduce students to the local government structure and the people in the various power positions. They will see day to day activities that directly affects their lives, and ways people can influence the actions of these people in power. Where they can see day to day progress or activities on behalf of this level of government that affects their lives.
